Bonneville County Heritage Association seeking to preserve old structures
Published atIDAHO FALLS — The city of Idaho Falls is turning 150 years old. As part of the celebration, leaders are introducing residents to history and heritage and they need your help.
The Bonneville County Heritage Association wants residents to help them find some of the oldest structures in the area. Specifically, historians are looking for buildings built prior to 1900 and those built between 1901 and 1915. The structures can be anything from public buildings to out-houses. The effort is designed to preserve local history before it disappears.
Idaho State Representative and Bonneville County Historian Linden Bateman held a news conference Tuesday on the front steps of the historic Presbyterian Church in Idaho Falls to further explain the project.
East Idaho News Reporter Mark Richardson attended the conference and spoke with Bateman in the clip above.
