According to the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command Public Affairs Office, the two Navy personnel aboard the F/A-18 F Super Hornet fighter jet ejected from the aircraft, survived the crash and were safely recovered by search and rescue personnel. Both rescued individuals are conscious and alert, the press release said, and did not suffer any serious injuries.

The Navy says that the crash was not caused by hostile activity, though it was still investigating the cause of the crash.
