A water main was severed in the crash causing severe flooding to the business. A city of Idaho Falls utility employee was called out to shut off the water from a street access valve. Originally there was concern of a gas leak. The source of the odor was found to be the truck itself leaking fuel.

Witnesses at the scene say the man appeared to be speeding before his vehicle left the road.
