Teton School District to close Wednesday to Friday due to illness

DRIGGS — Teton School District 401 closed several schools last week due to widespread illness.
Now they are closing the entire district for the same reason. All of the schools in the district are closed and all school-sponsored winter sporting activities are canceled on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (Feb. 6-8).
School officials say they’ve seen absenteeism rates of about 20 percent during the past week among students and staff.
“This affects our entire community. Please take steps to stay home if you are sick and avoid contact with others,” Superintendent Monte Woolstenhulme said.
Many schools in Bonneville, Madison, Fremont, Bingham, Jefferson and Teton counties have closed in the last several weeks due to widespread respiratory illness among students.
