UPDATE: Several highways reopen in eastern Idaho

The following highways reopened Thursday afternoon after being closed nearly the entire week:
- U.S. Highway 20 from Ashton to the Montana state line
- Idaho Highway 87 from the US 20 junction to the Montana state line
- Idaho Highway 32 from Ashton to Tetonia
Two highways remain closed:
- U.S. Highway 20 from Carey to Arco
- Idaho Highway 47 from Ashton to Bear Gulch

ASHTON — Many areas in eastern Idaho continue to dig themselves out after the snowstorm earlier this week. Fremont County appears to be the worst hit area. Several of the main highways are still closed and as a result North Fremont Sr/Jr High School and Ashton Elementary School remain closed.
The following is a list of highways still closed by the Idaho Transportation Department.
- U.S. Highway 20 from Ashton to the Montana state line
- U.S. Highway 20 from Carey to Arco
- Idaho Highway 87 from the US 20 junction to the Montana state line
- Idaho Highway 47 from Ashton to Bear Gulch
- Idaho Highway 32 from Ashton to Tetonia
