IDAHO FALLS — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the central mountains and eastern highlands between 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 p.m. Sunday.

A moist Pacific storm system will spread over central and southeast Idaho tonight bringing snow to most of the higher elevation areas. About 4 to 8 inches of snow will fall in the mountains and in the mountain passes. There is already snow in most of those areas due to Friday’s storm.

Temperatures are expected to be moderate so little snow accumulation is expected in the Snake River Plain.

Travel could be very difficult especially in the overnight period and on Sunday morning, according to the most recent NWS forecast. Travelers are advised to use caution on the roadways.
