IDAHO FALLS — Investigators say an Idaho Falls man had explicit photos of teen and pre-teen boys on his Facebook account.

Jordan R. Blatter, 30, is charged with five felony counts of possession of child pornography. According to an affidavit of probable cause obtained by EastIdahoNews.com, investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children Tasks for learned of the sexually exploitive images and videos through a tip given by Facebook to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Both local and federal investigators with the task force learned a Facebook account reportedly belonging to Blatter had 10 images or videos identified as child pornography. According to court documents, some of the boys were as young as six or seven years old.

A search warrant served on Blatter’s Facebook account also uncovered more child pornography.

Investigators found Blatter lived on the east side of Idaho Falls and on Tuesday, the ICAC team raided his home as well as his place of work. An Idaho Falls Police officer stopped Blatter in his vehicle and took him to the Sheriff’s Office for an interview.

“During the interview, Blatter admitted to possessing images and videos of underage children and sharing naked images of himself with teenagers,” a Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputy wrote in the probable cause.

Blatter was arrested and booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

Although Blatter is accused of crimes it does not necessarily mean he committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

If convicted, each count Blatter is charged with holds up to a maximum term of 10-years in prison, meaning a possible total of 50-years behind bars. However, offenders of such crimes rarely received the maximum sentence.

A preliminary hearing for Blatter is scheduled for May 19 at the Bonneville County Courthouse.
