Your donation to Glen Allen Project could be doubled or tripled during Idaho Gives

POCATELLO — The newly formed nonprofit organization Glen Allen Project (GAP) is gearing up for Idaho Gives 2025, and it’s doing so with a rare opportunity: the chance to double or even triple donations through generous matching funds.
GAP describes itself as a group of local creators, educators, business owners, parents and community advocates united by a shared vision: to build opportunities that enrich lives through creativity, collaboration, and healing with a focus on fostering art, unity, and education in a safe and inclusive environment.
GAP’s work aligns with the goals of Idaho Gives, a statewide, four-day online giving campaign running from Monday to May 1. Organized by the Idaho Nonprofit Center and sponsored by Idaho Central Credit Union, the initiative helps donors across the state support causes they care about. Since 2013, Idaho Gives has raised nearly $20 million for Idaho-based nonprofits.
According to GAP Co-President Sunny Sage Bybee, Glen Allen’s brother, a Boise-based attorney, has pledged to match donations up to $30,000. Additional matching incentives are also available throughout the week via the Idaho Gives platform, creating even more potential for impact.
GAP will host several community events during Idaho Gives week to celebrate the initiative and encourage support. All events will take place at Lookout Point in Pocatello. A Craft Buffet and potluck is planned for Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by a community barbecue on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The gatherings are open to the public and designed to showcase the organization’s mission and community spirit. Find more details on the events here.
“We have a fantastic location at 426 West Lewis, right next to Lookout Point, the Marshall Public Library and Poky High School,” said Bybee. “It’s a vibrant hub where people come together, connect and enjoy each other’s company like family.”
GAP’s impact is already being felt throughout the community through partnerships with Bicycles for Recovery and Pocatello Blessings. The group hosts regular workshops and gatherings in Historic Downtown Pocatello, providing hands-on art activities that inspire creativity and bring people together. The events often include take-home projects and group projects that are showcased in the community.
“It’s a gratifying experience to create something. It gives people such a boost,” said Bybee. “Our goal is to create a vibrant and supportive space where people of all backgrounds and ages can come together to learn, grow and connect. We want to remove barriers, encourage imagination, and support community outreach through meaningful art and skill-building experiences.”
In addition to its own programming, GAP participates in regional events such as the Portneuf Valley Environmental Fair, the Farmers Market, the Crafter’s Market at Station Square, Shady Grove Music Camp and The Lincoln Center.
Bybee hopes this year’s campaign not only boosts fundraising but also raises awareness about the importance of creative and inclusive community spaces.
