Aaron Ball Band takes the stage to fight hunger at Foodbank Music Festival

POCATELLO — The Gate City-based Aaron Ball Band will take the stage at Lookout Point Saturday evening for the 5th Annual Foodbank Music Festival, helping raise money and food donations for eastern Idaho families facing hunger.
The free concert will be held Sept. 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lookout Point. Cash and food donations benefiting The Idaho Foodbank will be accepted during the event.
“You can bring undented cans and dry goods that are not expired,” Ball said. “You can also donate money in cash, or there will be information on how to donate digitally.”
Kyle Peck, development coordinator for The Idaho Foodbank in eastern Idaho, said food insecurity continues to affect many people throughout the region.
“One in seven people in eastern Idaho face food insecurity,” Peck said.
The Idaho Foodbank provides food assistance to approximately 44,000 people each month through its network of food pantries and other community partners across the state.

Peck said the organization stretches monetary donations through partnerships with local farmers and businesses, food donations and reduced purchasing rates, saying, “A $10 donation is enough for 20 meals worth of food.”
This year, Bannock Storage and RV Park will match the first $1,000 in cash donations made during the festival, allowing those contributions to go even further.
The Aaron Ball Band is an award-winning group whose music blends Americana, Southern rock and alternative country, with a strong emphasis on original music and storytelling.
Led by singer and guitarist Aaron Ball, the group also includes keyboardist and backing vocalist David Bowman and drummer and backing vocalist Jared Smith.
“We are proud to once again partner with the Idaho Foodbank to present our annual Idaho Foodbank Music Festival — an event dedicated to raising both critical funds and awareness in the fight against hunger in our region,” Smith said.
“We are grateful to the Aaron Ball Band for giving of their time and their support of the food bank for the last five years,” Peck said. “They have been great to work with.”
The Aaron Ball Band has performed throughout the United States and internationally, including tours in Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and Japan, along with numerous Caribbean countries.
The group was inducted into the Academia Hall of Fame in 2023 and has a history of supporting charitable causes through benefit concerts, including previous Idaho Foodbank Music Festivals and American Cancer Society events.
The band will head overseas again in October for an international tour in Australia.
