PRESTON — A Preston man has died from injuries he sustained last week when a pickup truck struck his mobility scooter in a crosswalk.

Franklin County Coroner Ron Smillie identified the man as 67-year-old Terry Wayne Traynor of Preston.

According to the Idaho State Police, a 62-year-old man from Nibley, Utah, was driving a 2003 pickup truck southbound when he struck Traynor, who was navigating the crosswalk on a mobility scooter.

Emergency responders transported Traynor by ground ambulance to a local hospital, where he died on Tuesday, March 3, from his injuries.

Smillie described Traynor as a well-liked member of the community who had some mobility challenges.

“This was just a tragic accident,” Smillie said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
