A surprise for a man who is influencing young kids with chess, checkers and fishing

EastIdahoNews.com and Ashley Furniture HomeStore are teaming up every week to bring you some good news during Feel Good Friday!

We want to surprise people in our community with random acts of kindness and leave you with some feel good moments.

We recently heard about a man named Dan Garren who voluntarily started a chess and checkers club every Wednesday at Holy Rosary School in Idaho Falls. Students meet with Dan before school from 7-8 and he teaches them how to play the games.

Dan also decided to start a fishing club this spring and will help the students learn how to fish.

We decided to thank Dan for his efforts by surprising him during a recent club meeting.

Watch the video above to see the surprise! And if you have any ideas for Feel Good Friday, please email nate.eaton@eastidahonews.com.
